Crossing into Bolivia: polleras, trenzas y el camino

The beauty of the Andean altiplano, high plains, surrounding Lake Titicaca is absolutely astounding. I'll let the photographs speak for themselves, but they can't match the feeling this land provokes.

On the road from Puno, Peru to Copacabana, Bolivia.

Hey there!

Transferring: van to Desaguadero.

Sometimes the blurry picture just does a better job at describing the scene.

Much the conversation overheard on the micro-bus was in Aymara, not Spanish. This was the first time since my trip with other Americans through Peru that I was with so many people who didn't understand Spanish.

 Those mountains....

There's something about frontier towns; Desaguadero.

This guy from Lima "helped me" get to the Peruvian/Bolivian border in Desaguadero. Unfortunately, he brought me to the border closest to La Paz, not Copacabana, so we had to turn around. At least he carried my bag!

On the bridge between Peru and Bolivia.

Whoops... heading back to Peru for a few more hours!

 Everything is stunning.

Coffee and travel notes, finally in Copacabana.

Bolivia's presidents, past and current, Evo Morales.

Funniest search history at internet cafe.

Buenas noches...
