Playing on Montañita Beach

Two sides of Fidel, and his board.

Sofia takes us to the beach in her VW van.

Look at that concentration....

Catch me if you can!

Kaël and Genevieve.

MONTAÑITA: a gem-selling, international (mostly Argentinian), surfing, nonstop partying, marijuana smokin', hippy, ayahuascar-trying bunch of youngin's. Once a modest fishing village, tourism has boomed within the last 10 years, and many new, tall, bungalow-looking hotels are popping up along the coast.

Then there are these two precious children! Fidel y Juana.

Genevieve and Sofi.

Fidel, Genevieve, Diana, Sofia y yo.

Stunning. Good day.

Juana y Jade

 Juana and her dolls.

I was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon Lima graffiti artist Jade's work in Montañita (note the Marca Perú logo).

See more about Jade in Ecuador here.

Morning 303

Sofia graciously let Diana and I stay in her Montañita backyard in the tent of another, also Argentinian, Sofia.

Símbolos de Amor

 Drive from Guayaquíl to Montañita...

 Excerpts from Juana's notebook.

 The beauty of Montañita.

Tent.

Guayaquíl Encocado

Walking around the bustling port city of Guayaquíl, Ecuador's biggest city.

 Iguanas chillin' in the park!

 The Guayas river.

Ceviche a lo ecuatoriano (I'm partial to the Peruvian variety!)

Encocado de camarón... like a coconut shrimp stew. Absolutely incredible.

 AGUACERO

Cute uppity dessert place... parts of Guayaquíl are very cosmopolitan.

 Mmmm....

There's something about those accidental photos.

Into the Lush

 Landscapes of Northern Perú...

Transfer at the party town of Máncora.

Probably near Ecuador's banana capital, Machala.

"Beyond what you see".

 Outside of Guayaquíl.
