El Primero de Mayo

On this first of May (International Workers Rights Day), we decided to skip out on the festivities at Revolution Square, where every year schoolchildren are brought from throughout Havana, and instead take it easy with a few errands.

 Pipo and Combo.

I think most photos of Pipo look like this.

At Kathy's, the world's best hairdresser.

The Pope was in Cuba (at the beginning of the Revolution, this would have been unheard of).

Manager of Al Medina restaurant, with whom Raul works.

Ruining my photos is just part of the fun.

The Café del Oriente...

... a world-class joint with a nice piano. (And, come to think of it, probably the opposite of what May 1st stands for).

 Messin' round.

"Until 'V' (Victory) Always".

It couldn't be Larry of Belén, could it?
